ITI Limited celebrates 71st Independence Day of India



ITI Limited celebrated the nations 71st Independence Day with fervent zeal and patriotism at Corporate Office, Bangalore premises on August 15, 2017.

On the commemoration of 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement a mass New India Movement 2017-2022 known as ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi - Attainment through Resolve’ was launched by the Government of India on 9th August 2017. As per the directives of Government of India ‘Sankalp Parva’ or the Day of Resolve was celebrated on 15th August 2017 by taking a pledge towards a New India. New India Pledge was administered by Shri S. Gopu, CMD in English, Dr. Janaki Ananthakrishnan, Director (Finance) in Hindi and Shri Nagaraj, Chief Engineer (Civil) in Kannada to all the employees and the gathering.

Shri S. Gopu, CMD, ITI hoisted the tricolor National flag after inspecting the guard of honor which was followed by National anthem and salute in the presence of Functional Directors, Senior Officers, Employees, Representatives of Employees’ Union, Officers Association, Family members and ITI School Children. On the auspicious occasion, Shri Gopu recalled the sacrifices of all the martyrs and freedom fighters, who won the freedom for our country, paid tributes to them and extended his wishes to the gathering.

Shri Gopu in his address said, “ITI is on the game changer path and taking up new projects to take the organization to newer heights. The Company has achieved a turnover of Rs. 1621 Crore, which is remarkably the highest turnover in the last six years. The net profit has increased by 21% achieving a profit of Rs. 305 Crore with the grants from the Government of India. Presently the Company has an order book of Rs. 1600 Crore and making efforts to regain its strong leadership position in the telecommunications domain in the country. The company has plans to keep this sustainability going on and achieve the complete turnaround with the support of Government of India. We are working on the projects of national importance such as executing the G-PON order of BBNL with C-DOT technology for Government of India’s prestigious project of ‘BharatNet’ and also received orders for supply and installation of GPON from BSNL and one more order from BBNL. On the defense front, the company has participated in the mega tender of ASCON Phase IV project and awaiting opening of the commercial bid. ITI has recently won a contract from BSNL for encryption products of the NFS project and expecting an order for Rs. 90 Cr from the defense for the supply of encryption products. We have also bid for the ASCON encryption tender and hoping to get good orders. In addition, ITI is expecting order against expansion of DCN Network of Defence. Palakkad plant has contributed to the manufacturing of electronic assembly for ISRO’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark III, one of the prestigious missions of ISRO which gave a giant leap for India in space programme. The electronic packages fabricated at ITI Palakkad plant were part of the successful launch of on June 5, 2017. ITI has launched ‘TAG-ITI’ Wallet, a digital mobile wallet that can be used for cashless transactions & online payments. AADHAAR based authentication services to various agencies. ITI is also focusing on IoT and ICT projects under Digital India. We have bagged many orders for various services like AADHAAR authentication, e-signature, e-KYC under different projects like e-mitra, e-gram from various state governments and nationalized banks. We have tied up with many technology providers for offering various solutions based on IoT, which go into building smart infrastructure for smart cities and also for augmenting the Digital India initiative of Government of India.

He urged all the employees to be faster to accomplish the targets; stronger financially by standing on own; and higher to create a niche for ITI in India. He exhorted each and everyone towards working hard to achieve complete turnaround of the company in the near future towards bringing back the glory of the Company.”

Shri S. Gopu distributed prizes to the winners of ‘Quit India Quiz’, ‘Patriotic Songs’ and ‘Pick & Speak’ competitions.

Shri S. Gopu distributed corporate performance awards to Shri A S Nagesh, Shri M Deshmukh, Shri B R Mohan Singh, Shri Sanjay Kumar Raina and Shri Jonathan Wheeler for their contribution towards the Company.
